Corporate Gift

How A Corporate Gift Can Boost Employee Performance In BPO Companies

Business process outsourcing companies abound in Asia and India. By BPO, businesses in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia offshore operations to other countries, usually third world, where labor costs are lower and where manpower competencies and skills are high.

A lot of BPO companies operate with thousands of employees. And because they usually are under highly competitive niche, such as sales, credit collection, and other client services, employees not only are paid a premium, but also enjoy receiving a corporate gift as part of the perks.

Because of many work opportunities offered by competing BPO companies, attrition is one of the major problems. Keeping employees motivated, and loyal to the company despite of external opportunities, is key. Because BPO work involves highly technical and client-specific training, the company suffers a loss when employees leave shortly after they have been trained.

One proven way to combat attrition is to reward employees with a corporate gift each time he or she meets the performance metric specified on his or her score card. The corporate gift may come as a cup or mug, a pen, a name card holder, or even big and fabulous ones such as a round time piece and compass, or an elite high flyer crystal base trophy. Whatever the gift, every employee appreciates to be recognised for his or her valuable contribution to the team.

BPO companies are strict with attendance as well. One of the major challenges of working in a BPO company is having to come to work in the US or UK time zones, when you are in the Philippines or India. This could mean coming to work at night. This means coming to work during the local holidays which are regular work days in the client country. That’s why; giving the employees a corporate gift for attendance is also a normal practice. And like other perks, this is one which employees truly appreciate.
